This periodic performance of practice analysis (i.e., job analysis) study assists NCSBN in evaluating the validity of the NCLEX-PN test plan that guides content distribution of the licensure examination. This publication analyzes the U.S. population of entry-level licensed practical/vocational (LPN/VN) nurse practice, including the relevance of clinical judgment in the performance of nursing activities. Because changes can occur in LPN/VN practice, practice analyses are conducted on a three-year cycle.

This webinar will show you how to run exam dynamic reports in Pearson VUE’s Business Intelligence (BI) reporting platform. NCSBN’s psychometric staff will introduce Candidate Reports, Program Reports and Quarterly Reports. More specifically, the differences between those reports will be explained. After this webinar, you will be able to run the reports that meet your needs, and subscribe to reports so the system will automatically generate and email the reports to schools.

NCSBN depends on nurses to assist in the NCLEX and REx-PN item development process.

The first NGN session of the morning will be a demonstration highlighting how the NCSBN Clinical Judgment Measurement Model (NCJMM) has been applied to the development of NGN case studies, including new including new test items that will be used on the NGN.

During this session, a high-level overview will be provided based on the Next Generation NCLEX test design that incorporates clinical judgment. Information will be provided which highlights those aspects of the NCLEX that will remain the same and what will be changing. This session will provide the first glimpse into the new structure and design of the Next Generation NCLEX exam.

We will explore how the NCJMM has been applied to the development of standalone items that will be a part of the NGN.

This session will introduce the new scoring associated with the Next Generation NCLEX. All new scoring methods will be discussed, and examples provided of the new polytomous scoring methods that will be applied. Additionally, a high-level overview will be provided of the extension of the current Rasch scoring model that will be used to calibrate items to the NCLEX scale.
