To generate evidence-based information for PR&E to analyze and apply, the NCSBN Research Department is conducting a study to evaluate outcomes of statewide transition initiatives for graduate nurses in comparison with a national sample. This study aims to: (1) describe the transition experiences, clinical competence and risks for prac- tice breakdown of graduate nurses; (2) determine the impact of statewide transition programs on the nurses’ clinical competency and risks for practice breakdown; and (3) identify factors that influence transition into practice.

So that ensures that, whatever we are graduating, stepping foot in Massachusetts, is the same standards as our schools that are fully there. So you look at some of our trends, and it's hard to see, that's why I put red. You can see that, like, 2016, we had about 12 schools that were below 80, 2017, we dropped down to 8, and 2018, we actually finished the year with 2. One of them is no longer approved, actually it's an initial approval status, we pulled their approval last year. And the other one that's below 80, it's actually on warning. We conducted, in 2016, 9 surveys. 2017, 11. 2018, we conducted 17. So and we probably are going to have about 25 to 30 this year.
