All rights reserved. 4 As I mentioned, all four of you all landed on some adaptation of the clinical judgment model. I'm sorry, Lasater Clinical Judgment Rubric. I apologize about that. Tell us some of the processes that you used in selecting a tool. And why do you believe it is a good tool the way you're using it in order to foster clinical judgment in the transition to practice period? Kaitlyn, can we start with you? - Yeah, we worked really closely with our organizational effectiveness team to, kind of, help us research and find a good tool.

All right, you use it and control it. Don't let it control you. That's my first thing. There's a statement that's been attributed to all sorts of people, and I will admit to you I can't find anywhere to say who really made this statement. But what is new is not good, and what is good is not new, and it will say what is truth. And it's went four different ways. Why do I tell you that? Because you don't have to go very far if you would just forget about the bright light of AI, and I'm all about it, so please understand that, all right?

How would you describe your leadership style? People who know me say I’m defined by my curiosity, passion for the new, calculated risk and heart for seeing success in others. I also believe in transparency. I tell the Board of Directors, “My job is to tell you the good, the bad and the ugly,” because if all I’m going do is tell them the good stuff, then they probably don’t need me. These are the things that define me, not my job title or my academic degree. After I got out of the military, I was a coordinator at a testing room.

Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation Clinics of North America 1998;9:435-72 All 5 Clinical Societies recommend against use of imaging My Back Pain Choosing Wisely or …Imposing Miserly Rules • Dismissive- – No need to be seen; nothing much to do – Just take NSAIDs and refer to PT – Don’t you know how much I’m suffering • What is “nonspecific” low back pain – How do we know not structural lesion – How good is exam in differentiating – Isn’t nerve root symptoms a “red flag” • Don’t treatments differ depending on Dx? – If you are uncertain, why not know • Isn’t earlier vs. delayed Dx/Rx better? – Keeping acute pain from becoming chronic – How do you know it’s not cancer?

So, that would be the type of information we'd be definitely trying to collect in terms of what happens with the program and do the nurses successfully return to practice. Let's see, from... Comparison to public versus non-public outcomes would be interesting. I agree. That would be good. And, I'm not seeing any other questions here. Let's see, did missed check-ins...? ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 6 Refresh, okay, so you're saying... I just saw one here. Did missed...? Okay. Did missed check-ins to test factor into data for those that did not complete?

There'll still be 15 unscored pretest items in the exam for us to do pretesting of new items. Likewise, the exam is going to operate the same as exactly as it does today with respect to item selection. All items are going to be targeted right at the candidate's ability level. That's what computerized adaptive testing is really good at doing. It's really good at identifying the current ability level estimate of an individual and then finding and selecting items that are right around that area where they are. They're either not too easy or not too hard where we don't get much information, but they're right there at the optimal level.

The constant challenge of meaningful work that helps us feel like we're making a difference in the world, I know that's why you all started doing this work. And when I talk to police officers, same thing. They're not looking to grab guys by the neck and shoot them unnecessarily. They got into the work because they wanted to do something good. And context situations, lack of knowledge, lack of support makes things go sideways, doesn't it? So, when we work together and challenge ourselves to overcome obstacles and to think about problems as opportunities, I think we're all in good shape to make the kind of difference that we're all going to feel really good about.
