Similar percentages (55% of ADN and 62% of BSN respondents) had been an aide prior to becoming a licensed RN. However, only 6% of BSNs had previously been LPNs or LVNs compared to 32% of ADNs. When asked about certificates earned or courses completed since graduation from nursing school, 19.7% of the ADN graduates and 15.8% of the BSN graduates reported that they had not participated in such activities. There were 27.1% of ADN graduates and 25.5% of BSN graduates who had earned Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
