Contact your state board of nursing for instructions on the steps you need to take to convert your license to a multistate license. A nurse has 60 days to apply for a license by endorsement, beginning when the nurse physically relocates to the new state with an intent to establish their primary residence in the new state. Q23: Under what circumstances does the NLC require an applicant to take an English proficiency examination that includes the components of reading, speaking, writing and listening? A: According to Article III c. 3, there are two circumstances in which it is required: 1. The individual graduated from a foreign pre-licensure program not taught in English; or 2. Test Your Knowledge TRUE OR FALSE: Party state A offers primary source verification of nurses’ licensure status on its website. Pursuant to new rule Rule 203, Party State A must instead refer the public to the QuickConfirm Nursys function. Test Your Knowledge • FALSE • Party states are required to participate in the Nursys verification for endorsement function, but there is no requirement that party states cease using their own license look-up and/or notification systems. • E-Notify and QuickConfirm functions of Nursys are not required by NLC rules. Nevertheless, these tools provide important benefits to nurses and employers.

The editor ensures that the items look and read as though they were written by one writer. Every REx- PN item is pre-tested before being placed in the operational pool. We gather statistical data on each item before it is used to accurately measure a candidate's nursing knowledge. There are 30 pre-test items on every REx-PN exam. Pre-test items do not look any different from operational items. So their integration into the exam is seamless to a candidate. Pre-test items are not scored and do not affect the outcome of a candidate's examination.

Summary A non-experimental, descriptive study was conduct- ed to explore the priority and frequency of activities performed by entry level LPN/VNs. More than 1,500 LPN/VNs responded. In general, findings indicate that activities listed in the survey were representa- tive of the work performed in LPN/VNs’ practice settings. Conclusion (1) When compared to the 2003 LPN/VN Practice Analysis results, there was an increase in the number of newly licensed LPN/VNs working in long-term care and community-based settings rather than hospital settings. (2) Approximately 48% of the newly licensed LPN/ VNs reported performing administrative roles.
