Simultaneously, another faculty member and group of students were setting up the employee testing site also in partnership with our employee health services. And so we were able to get a lot of experiences both on the systems focused practicum as well as direct care experiences doing those COVID screenings remotely as well as doing on-site testing.

The study focuses on medication treatment for opioid use disorder, which is an evidence-based approach to treat people with opioid dependence or addiction. There are three medications now used for opioid treatment. Methadone has been around the longest and is a full opioid agonist. It's a Schedule II drug and can only be offered in a licensed narcotics treatment program. It's typically administered as a directly observed treatment, meaning that people must go to the program site for treatment on a regular basis.

Barbara Blozen: Candidate for President-elect | NCSBN
In my leadership role and position as President of the NJ BON it was my duty to mentor, lead and guide new appointees. The BON has seen three different executive officers under my tenure and, an addition of two new BON nursing positions for which I advocated. I have been a consistent and committed member of the BON, much of which I credit to the support of NCSBN. The staff and resources offered by NCSBN has proved to be instrumental for me in my leadership role. I had the opportunity to earn a certificate in Healthy Policy and Media Engagement from George Washington University, as I was awarded a scholarship through NCSBN.
