  • Committees | NCSBN

    Most National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) objectives are accomplished by committees. All NCSBN members are eligible for committee membership. Many of NCSBN's objectives are accomplished through the committee process. NCSBN strives to achieve balanced representation whenever possible among area, staff and board members, registered and licensed professional/vocational nurses, and consumers. The time commitment is a two-year appointment, with committees meeting 2-3 times per year. There are also opportunities to serve on ad hoc committees and task forces. The Leadership Succession Committee, an elected committee, is charged to present a slate of candidates for inclusion on a ballot for the election of NCSBN Leadership.

    The Delegate Assembly, NCSBN's voting body, convenes during the organization's annual meeting in August. NCSBN member boards also meet in their respective areas to discuss regional issues important to state boards of nursing.
