    Why does cannabis work in terms of as a therapeutic plant or as a therapeutic modality? It's because the plant cannabinoids, like THC and CBD, mimic and augment the effects of endogenous compounds that our brain and body are constantly making and destroying 24/7. We have endocannabinoids, they're called, and these endocannabinoids are part of what's referred to as the endocannabinoid system. And endocannabinoid system, how do we describe it? I'll go into it a little bit. Italian scientist Vincenzo di Marzo, he referred to what does endocannabinoid system do.

    In every study, we attempted to get a broad range of nurses to participate in the studies. So, as you can see, we included a large number of nurses representing all geographic areas of the U.S. There was a large range of years of experience ranging from 1 year all the way up to 45 years of experience. And we had nurses from over 25 critical practice areas of nursing participate, and they participated in every one of the studies. The intention of these studies was to evaluate a nationally diverse sample for a wide range of perspectives, expertise, and practice areas.

    And so, she decided she should leave AMA and ended up right back at the hospital in a worse situation than she was when she left. But that's the part that observable piece at the top that people can't identify, even nurses sometimes can't identify what they've done and what kind of clinical reasoning or judgment they've applied. So, Layer 1 is that observable layer that shows you the clinical judgment piece in its one big process there. So, there's no way to measure that and it's really difficult to teach. The second, Layer 2 and 3, these are not observable. They're supportive of Layer 1 and, of course, Layer 0, but Layer 1, 2, and 3 are considered the cognitive layers of this model.
