All rights reserved. 3 When you answer an item incorrectly, your ability estimate will get lower than the previous one. The computer selects the next item that can match your updated ability estimate. This adaptive process will go on as the exam continues. Please note that the line of item number 7 is much shorter than the line of item number 1. When the computer only receive one response from you, it knows a little about your ability, therefore the confidence interval range is wide and the estimation is not precise. When the computer collects 17 responses from you, it knows more about what you can do and cannot do.

They sit in a room with their diversion group, which is great. You know, I think it's great that they have these groups. But they might wait days or weeks to finally get the nurse in and drug screen them. And they'll understandably say, "From a patient safety perspective, we're going to catch them right at 7:00 a.m. when they come through the door and we're going to drug test them." If they're diverting fentanyl, chances are at 7:00 a.m. when they haven't worked in a day or two, they may not be positive. So timing of the request matters. And, you know, just talking to facility leadership about that as much as we can kind of get that in.

On the NGN, as you saw in the video that was presented at the mid-year meeting, we are proposing a different approach to scoring clinical judgment content. Here, a candidate will be able to earn some points for responses that are partly correct. For example, if an item has 3 points, each worth a point, a candidate might earn a 0, 1, 2, or 3, depending on their response. Unlike dichotomist scoring, there are many ways to assign partial credit. As we walk through the three methods we proposed for NGN, please remember the big picture. Partial credit will now be possible for ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

So instead of clustering individual based on a specific construct or a variable, it cluster participant based on pattern or change, in my case, based on change in their fatigue pattern. The top level, as you can see here, has a smaller number of nurses and this is just accident. And the lower-three clusters has more participation. For the first top level, participant in Cluster 1, 2, and 3, they have close to a consistent state of fatigue. So Cluster 1 were at a low level of fatigue, and they remained low throughout the observation period. The second level were in the middle fatigue level. And they remained in the middle throughout the study period.
