Consistent with RNs, most entry-level practical nurses are likely to receive orientation with the preceptor. However, some PNs do not receive orientation at all. Additionally, more PNs are reporting receiving a formal internal orientation, for example, a residency. ©2024 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. During each practice analysis, we ask entry-level respondents how much time they spend in a given shift completing care associated with the eight NCLEX test plan categories.

The challenges, space, cost, trained faculty. And we have similar challenges in the U.S., being limited clinical space, time, faculty availability and then complex care situations. ©2024 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. That kind of waxed and waned depending upon where you had information from. I was surprised at the limited responses from Israel. At that time, there was not any civil unrest in Israel, yet I got very little information back from them.

One in five participants also reported they expanded the geographic boundaries of their direct patient care, with the most dramatic increase coming in the form of increased outreach to patients in rural areas. Before the pandemic, 27% of APRN care was reported in rural areas, but after, the rate climbed to 36%. ©2023 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 Prior to the pandemic, only 53% of respondents indicated their supervising provider conducted regular chart reviews, and 9% indicated their supervising provider never conducted chart reviews. So as the chart before you illustrates, coordination between APRNs and their supervising providers was not always regular, even before COVID-19.
