And now, in the past two quarters, we've seen that's really shot up, and they're starting now to be more in conjunction with the other clinical judgment element areas. We noticed with ©2026 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 PN, it's still the hardest out of the bunch, but there were a couple of quarters where it was slightly less difficult than the...I believe it's, yes, the recognizing cues. So while all of these lines themselves kind of at times overlap each other, you know, changing places in the difficulty, prioritizing hypotheses has always been the most difficult for the RN exam.

We've intentionally included scenarios that mirror an exam question to see if the student who might select the correct multiple-choice answer will do that in a simulated scenario. ©2026 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 For example, we have a scenario where it's important to bladder scan the patient before they call the physician and ask for a straight cath order. And students who select the correct answer when it's in a quiz don't always complete that step when they're faced with the same simulation scenario.

And, please note that NCSBN does not need photos of the candidate's snack or drinks. Last month, NCSBN and Pearson VUE implemented an online scheduling option for some testing accommodations. ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 Previously, all NCLEX candidates with accommodations had to schedule their appointment over the telephone with Pearson VUE's accommodations team. If a candidate's accommodations request only includes Extra Time - 3 Hours, 2 Hours, 1 Hour, Adjustable Font, and/or Adjustable Contrast, the candidate can now schedule their appointment online.

Now, one of the principal ways that regulators have to shape compliance is through enforcement. And maybe some of you have heard this aphorism from a regulator in the New Deal era who said that, or at least is often quoted as having said that 20% of the regulated population will automatically comply with any regulation, 5% are going to attempt to evade it, and then 75% will comply or not, depending on what happens with the 5%. Now, I put this up here because this is such a widespread quote about regulatory compliance and the relationship between enforcement and compliance, but it's not based upon any empirical studies or realities.

If you had AI, which I'll show you later on how you connect different pieces with AI, AI can check to make sure that that Sheldon State Community College and the documents they sent you, are they actually from the same college? It'll know right away, right? ©2026 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 So, those adds the efficiencies. So you don't need a human to do that for you. It'll flag it. You always need a human to work on those things that are humans, and that is humans make decisions. AIs give you data, right? Or, put it this way, the AI works for you.
