We are making sure that when someone takes care of them, they have safe and competent care. That's that trust moment. That public trust. What are our advantages? Solutions, resources and programs. That was one group. ©2025 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 Or we called them buckets, by the way, but the buckets were insights, data, research, and expertise, people, and voices. And what is the scope? The scope out of all of that was these areas, it's public protection, regulation, and nursing. Seems pretty simple, right?

Or potentially even, right, and this is all exploratory, right? So don't jot down the thing with the date attached or anything like that. Although by 2030, we will be finished with the mentoring ©2025 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 engagement evolution project. But potentially, even apart from title, maybe you are helping your NRB implement ORBs. Is there somebody else out there in the NCSBN universe who did that recently that might be able to give you some good advice? So that sort of thing.

You know, it's a stimulating, proud, lively enterprise, but this last sentence gets me, "It's not just a way of life, it's a way to live fully." I missed that heartbeat of being a regulator, I miss it so much. I miss resolving a case. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 I miss providing consumer protection. I miss telling somebody, "Man, I work for the people of Texas. I work for them, I protect them." I mean, that means a lot. So, public service, when I think about it, and again, you really think about things a lot when you're no longer doing it.

I would say most hospitals and clinics have some type of plan, right, that you should document some type of incident pretty quickly, but if they don't, they need to, because that's the only way you can refresh your memory. I have one more question over here. [Woman 5]: Hi there. I was just thinking about post-traumatic stress syndrome. - Yes - Great. To see just sortf of how that happens and how that's triggered. Then, I was going to ask about a timeline too, because I know the further away you get, you know, from something that happened, the harder the details. - Yup.

And in terms of kind of the rich narrative that I've been describing, the word count for that actually ended up exceeding over 16,500 words. For the analysis. So, for me, this is where it gets exciting. So, bear with me. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 For the analysis, we used what's known as general estimating equation models. You don't necessarily have to be familiar with that methodology. What I'm going to try to convince you of, though, is that it was the appropriate methodology for the data that we had on hand for the analysis.

And the approach is alternative to discipline is a get out of jail free card, and people are not being punished, and we're not protecting the public. Although nurses are members of the public as well. And so addressing that issue and how we can do a better job of that. And my second part is, we have 50 some thousand nurses. I have anywhere between 5 or 10 people in our program. So that says something's wrong. And I have an idea about that with regard to providers and people losing their license, losing their job, losing their insurance. So why would I want to get in it? So any of your comments, really looking for what can I take back to D.C. and share that, here's something maybe we can take a look at?

So, when you see test at home, don't let the alarm bells go off. Yes, we realize, if nothing changed, that would be a much less secure testing environment. Well, we're not going to allow that to happen that way. ©2024 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 So, in the future, are there still testing centers? Well, yeah, there's that too, because we're not really expanding access if we take away one option and we put another out there. We know not everybody wants to test at home. Not everybody is able to test at home, right?
