First of all, always remember that the Compact mandates, as a matter of law, that the individual, the individual nurse that is moving to get licensed in their new primary state of residence. It is for them to contact that Board of Nursing to get the application, probably online, to make the declaration that's the new state and start the process. Of course, as we know, it doesn't have to happen immediately. If they still have an active license in the state they're moving from, they can work on that until they get the process completed in their new state.
