    It generated the National Simulation Guidelines for Nursing Programs to aid them in the establishment of evidence-based simulation programs for the undergraduate nursing curriculum. In partnership with 10 Canadian-registered nurse regulatory bodies, NCSBN developed and delivered the NCLEX exam that was implemented as a licensure requirement for most provinces in Canada in 2015. A changing of the guard occurred in October 2015 when David Benton succeeded Kathy Apple as NCSBN's CEO. Apple was thanked for her skilled management, which spanned a tenure of 14 years, as the organization looked to Benton's wide range of leadership experience and work in nursing research, developing evidence for regulation.
