And obviously, while we have to be adaptable and flexible, we have maintained that primary purpose of public protection. Like many of you, I'm sure, we've had to respond quickly to increased demands of the healthcare workforce. ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 We developed a pandemic sub-register which as at late last year, had 35,000 additional doctors, nurses, midwives, and pharmacists. This is a short-term register and given the stable situation in Australia, we're actually progressing to close this register.

So if a picture's taken of it and we actually get that through evidence, we can uncover that and that barcode, you know what I can embed in that barcode, Jay, I can embed your name, the computer you were on when you took it, the day that picture was taken. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. The other thing is item harvesting is building technology that doesn't allow screen captures on a computer, can do that now.

This factor (and the next two factors) is related to item exposure, not in a simple “number of exposures” context but rather in the context of types of exposure and the potential impact of the exposures on the likelihood of item compromise. Defining Item Compromise: 5 Item pool sizes. It is easy to understand the issues of item pool size as it relates to number of total item exposures. As the operational item pool moves toward containing smaller numbers of items, test-takers have an increased probability of being administered items that they have seen before; and the common item exposure across test takers also increases.

  • About | APRNCOMPACT

    Site: aprncompact.com

The APRN Compact allows advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs) to have one multistate license with the ability to practice in all compact states. APRN mobility is key to providing greater access to care. You can help bring the benefits of the compact to your state by sending a message to your legislators asking them to support APRN Compact legislation. APRNs save time and avoid the unnecessary cost of obtaining multiple licenses. Health care providers have a stronger workforce and better emergency response. And most importantly, patients get increased access to care, whether that's in a rural clinic, a specialty practice or through a telehealth visit. APRNs, with their specialized training and experience, must be able to reach patients when and where care is needed most. An APRN compact makes that possible. APRN COMPACT BENEFITS Increases access to care by allowing APRNs to practice seamlessly across member states.

And whenever I am, I always try to bear in mind the sage counsel of that great American philosopher, Yogi Berra, who put it so well, nailed it, in fact, when he said, "Making predictions is very hard, especially about the future." Nevertheless, since we are likely to see more change over the next 5 to 10 years in healthcare, in regulation, and in our lives than we have seen in the past century, I'm going to go out on a limb today and make a few predictions. Our topic is AI, a timely topic, because in the strategic direction vote for 2026 to 2028 for NCSBN, AI is a prominently featured subject.

And I think this has a huge potential I'm sure many of you in your states are faced with, there's a lot of federal funding now centered around workforce. And in fact, this week, while I was gone we just have one more vote and we're going ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 5 to be getting an additional $3 million that will be used to help work on the nursing workforce shortage solution. And I really don't think we would be in that position without this information. Because what I love about it is now I have a starting place, right?

If I look at where we are with government across the country, I work very closely with the National Association for Chief Information Officers. And they do a top 10 priorities every year. And in this ©2026 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. Cybersecurity, which had been number 1 for the last 16 years, fell to number 2, but they are really inseparable. So that's telling to me.
