Because the U.S. health care industry is rapidly changing, practice analysis studies are traditionally conducted by NCSBN on a three-year cycle. As nursing practice evolves, NCSBN continues to explore opportunities to keep the terminology in the practice analysis current. For this reason, a few data points have been added or deleted since the 2018 NCLEX-PN Practice Analysis resulting in a lack of 1:1 comparison between the two reports. Methodology A number of steps are necessary to perform an analysis of newly licensed LPN/VN practice. This section provides a description of the methodology used to conduct the 2021 LPN/VN Practice Analysis survey.
