And it does start to raise a question about who can overrule whom because if the machine is getting it right, far more often than any clinician can, then how, as a regulator, do we look on a licensee that actually overruled the machine where the patient dies? ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 16 - I look at it this way. In a team-based system, you have specialists, and there is a sweet workflow between them. AI agent will be another player within it, which embodies all the data and intelligence. So essentially, you rely on it when it comes to a fact where you rely on large volume of data and sort of you looking through the data and historical perspective and coming out with the diagnosis, this could help you with that.

Well, there are some things where you kind of get your information, and when I say communication, take it broadly, it just means getting information or providing information to others. It doesn't mean you're ©2024 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.

You can have a firm even as technically adept as Navigant come in and sweep the network and you still don't know they're there. So when they decide to do something, Sony Pictures Entertainment, is a perfect example, they were there for years and then they decided to do something, it took 12 seconds to lock down the whole network because they were already embedded. So it's just some background on some threat actors on the external side.

There's a few of them that I just like get really excited about. I'm looking at the time, like, "Do I have two hours to speak on it?" I'm gonna talk about it, though. The first one is anchoring bias. Anchoring bias is the first information that you put out there that becomes your baseline. And everything else is a value component. You usually see this in a settlement for a case. You see it when you're going to go buy a car, in negotiation, "I'm going to pay $22,000 for that car." And then the guy comes back, like, "That's really 28,000."

I would have preferred to stay home longer, but I was not given that choice. So our case manager in West Virginia works at home, has always worked at home. I have four case managers in Indiana plus an office manager. So we still have somewhat of a little hybrid here and there when I've had a couple of staff members. I don't want anybody in when they're sick. So I go in, my mom brain goes off and I'm like fever, whatever, we're going to follow all those rules. So I make them work from home. So we have the capabilities of doing it.

Issues the committee identified included: Core education requirements for approving distance education programs are needed so that states/jurisdictions are consistent when approving programs for having students in host states. A need for licensure clarification, particularly with faculty who only teach didactic courses, though there was consensus that preceptors or clinical faculty who work with patients be licensed in the host state where the patients are located.

And we've been quite busy over the past couple of months. Now, in this, in the presentation, the next couple minutes, you'll get an idea of how the team's working together to advance the NCSBN initiatives at the state and at the national level. Now, when you think about federal affairs, you're probably trying to figure out exactly what that has to do with the State Board of Nursing. I know there were a number of times when I was in my jurisdiction, I scratched my head and thought, exactly, what's the nexus?

As many of you know, the NFL draft just happened there last weekend, and we'd hope to make this a dual-purpose trip, maybe buy a vineyard or something while we were out here. But as you can tell, we were not drafted. So, we are going to do our presentation instead and spend a couple days with you guys.

Professional Licensure Requirements
Implementation Handbook for Institutional Compliance with the Federal Regulations (Second Edition)1. The institution certifies that it is in compliance with all the requirements (of which there are many including the recent addition of professional licensure requirements to this section of the rules). Failure to comply with the obligations of the PPA is a breach of the institution’s fiduciary duty when administering federal funds and may jeopardize the institution’s eligibility to receive Title IV.

The following summarizes discussion themes. Resisting Change While participants recognized that resistance to change is common, they agreed that changing “the way it has always been done” is certainly possible. They observed that change is most difficult when the current way of working appears satisfactory to staff and there is no perceived reason for change. However, altering routine practices can be challenging, even if everyone is supportive of the idea of person-centered care and agrees that it is an important goal.
