Gold, MD, a Columbia professor, believed that the oath to compassionate patient care taken by new physicians at the end of medical school came too late. Today, nearly every medical school in the United States, hundreds of nursing schools, and many other health profession schools participate in this tradition of humanistic care. And, again, if you were a member of the first compact, you have that grandfather provision. You really want to pay attention to the date I have circled there, which is the current license issue date. This date could be the initial issue date if that's the only license the person has been issued. But if they've renewed the license, it will likely be the last date that license was renewed.
