Award-winning research from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) supports regulatory decisions for patient safety and public protection. Results of the 2024 survey are now available. Nursys Discipline Case Review We are initiating a review of 2017-2023 discipline cases from the NCSBN Nursys database aimed toward identifying trends in discipline three years before and after the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020 to examine whether there have been changes in disciplinary violations or board actions due to the pandemic.

The virtual simulations were used at a 1:1 ratio per the VBON (2020b) guidance to create flexibility in clinical requirements per Virginia Executive Order No. 51 (2020). Thus, GW Nursing was able to substitute more than 50% of required clinical experiences in any course with simulation, allowing our students to progress.
