However, for NGN, these items can be a mix of standalone items and case studies. To make sure that all candidates get only 15 pre-test items, candidates could see any of the following 3 scenarios. First of all, they could receive all 15 standalone items. In a second scenario, they could receive 9 standalone items and 1 case study item which is 6 items making up the 15 in total. Or, finally, the third scenario you could see are 3 standalone items and 2 case studies which would comprise 12 items, making a total of 15. Each of these scenarios ensures that all candidates will have an equal number of unscored items.
