    Testing security is very important to protecting the validity and integrity of the NCLEX. Candidates' identification is appropriately reviewed and biometrics are documented at the test sites for every appointment. Testing centers are inherently equipped with state-of-the-art technology to protect examination content and rules are enforced to secure any confidentiality breaches. The public can also report any suspicious activity to the NCLEX testing security group. The NCLEX accommodation process begins with the candidate, their licensing jurisdiction then processes the request, NCSBN reviews all requests to ensure fairness and security of the NCLEX, and Pearson VUE ensures smooth delivery of the exam with the approved accommodations.

    Additionally the Board did not believe the Secretariat Agreement between NCSBN and the NLCA needs to be reviewed by the Interface Group. Legal Counsel Tom Abram provided an update on various legal matters. Maryann Alexander, Chief Officer Nursing Regulation provided an update on state legislation regarding the APRN Consensus Model. It was noted that the NCSBN book, Nursing Pathways for Patient Safety was nominated for the Capstone International Nursing Book Award by the Honor Society of Nursing. The APRN Practice Quality & Safety Systematic Review study will be published soon in Nursing Economics.

    Over the last two years, the issues around telehealth has come to the fore. We haven't heard quite so much about the Internet of Things, but it is something from a regulatory perspective that we are going to have to really consider very carefully.
