NCSBN Upholds NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN Examination Passing Standards | NCSBN
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. NGN is an enhancement of the current examinations which will place more emphasis on the measurement of a candidate’s nursing clinical judgment. NCSBN BOD President Jay Douglas, MSM, RN, CSAC, FRE, executive director, Virginia Board of Nursing, noted, “After careful consideration of all of the available information, the board determined that the current passing standard is appropriate as a measure of safe and effective entry-level nurse practice.”

NCSBN’s International Center for Regulatory Scholarship (ICRS) Seeking Academic Partnerships | NCSBN
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. ICRS is seeking partnerships to offer reciprocal courses toward graduate-level degrees in public or health policy, nursing, public health, health care administration and leadership. We want to partner with select academic institutions to promote regulatory science and help equip future health care leaders with the knowledge, skills and abilities needed to succeed in the complex and ever-changing fields of nursing, health care delivery and health profession regulation.

Nurse Licensure Compact Commission Annual Report Now Available | NCSBN
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. The ICNLCA enhances nurse mobility and public protection through maintaining uniform licensure standards among party state boards of nursing; promoting cooperation and collaboration between party states, facilitating the exchange of data and information between party states; and educating stakeholders. The ICNLCA is a quasi-governmental and joint public agency of the party states created and established on July 20, 2017. The Executive Committee is the seven-member elected leadership of the ICNLCA. About the NLC The NLC allows for RNs and LPN/VNs to have one multistate license, with the ability to practice in person or via telehealth in both their home state and other NLC states.

Utah Enacts Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Compact | NCSBN
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. Through the APRN Compact, APRNs will have the ability to travel from state-to-state to deliver care or provide telehealth services across state borders in other compact states. This will increase patient access to high-quality care with the assurance that their practitioner has met rigorous uniform standards no matter where that care is provided. Bill sponsor Sen. Curtis Bramble, commented, "It was my privilege to support APRNs in Utah and the important role they play in providing excellent care to our community. The passage of SB151 is significant because it will allow nurses from other states to practice in Utah without a lot of unnecessary bureaucratic red tape.
