Event 2022 NCSBN APRN Roundtable More info: https://www.ncsbn.org/16412.htm Presenter Jeannie P. Cimiotti, PhD, RN, FAAN, Associate Professor, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Emory University I'd like to begin my presentation by thanking NCSBN for gathering us together for this APRN Roundtable. And I would like to thank our nurses globally, who for the past two years have endured the physical and emotional turmoil associated with delivering nursing care during a global pandemic, and especially our nurses in the Ukraine, who have been dealing not only with the ongoing pandemic, but now the trauma associated with war.

Those were open caseload and number of active investigators. Overall, for every 100 additional cases, boards were about 10% more likely to resolve a case perhaps suggesting efficiencies gained through familiarity with certain case types. Less surprising, we also observed the boards were roughly 13% more likely to resolve a case for each additional active investigator.

Marijuana-Impaired Driving
The report is to educate the public that drugs other than alcohol, including marijuana, are absorbed, distributed and eliminated from the body differently than alcohol. While BAC correlates closely with impairment, there is no such measure (e.g., THC) for marijuana that correlates with impairment. Thus, a BAC-equivalent impairment measure is not possible. This research built a persuasive case that alcohol was a significant contributor to traffic crashes. For example, in the 1950’s it was estimated that alcohol-positive drivers were involved in approximately 50 percent of fatal crashes (involving over 25,000 fatalities per year), while the latest data available shows that alcohol-related fatal crashes have declined to around 30 percent (involving over 10,000 fatalities per year).

They don't ask for everything with the one red-top tube. They test for specific things. Same thing with urine drug screens. So, for you all who are investigators or for you all who are board members when you see a history and the nurse appeared impaired but the drug screen was negative, the next logical question that must be asked is, "What was tested?"

Thirteen jurisdictions (4%) mention political affiliations of members. In China, for example, nursing council members must “adhere to the outstanding Chinese Communist Party’s line, principles, policies, and political quality.” The method used to select members for the regulatory body varies worldwide (Figure 5).

So, if the state that issued your Compact License, if they require CE, you would do it for that state. And if those non-Compact states where you were issued a license require CE, then you also need to do it for them. But within the Compact... I'm going to have to mute everyone again, one second. Within the Compact, you only do it for one state, which is your home state, if they require it.
