    You should review it monthly, and actually download it so you can do month-to-month comparisons. So, you could see then looking at trends, if the data within Nursys from your board is increasing or going down. There are some key data elements that all the board should be looking at. First one is the DI 4, 4a and 5. And this all is related to discipline records. DI 6 through 9 includes licensure data directly related to verifications. DI 25 and 26 has to do with missing SSN and DOB. And this is important because we use those two, particularly for our matching within Nursys.

    Ultimately, the minimum passing score (MPS) is a purpose-specific policy decision that emerges from a performance level description of the expectations of target candidates. For example, the defined performance level for a news reporter or a trial lawyer may yield a MPS that is quite different than the MPS we might expect for a mathematician or computer programmer. This is a function of the role the English literacy construct plays in the job-related skills of the respective profession.
