And as a result, we're subject to ridicule. Now here's some good news. Nurses have done a terrific job. This is from an article from Gallup, December 26, 2017. "For the 16th consecutive year, Americans' ratings of the honesty and ethical standards of 22 occupations finds nurses at the top of the list. More than 8 in 10, 82% Americans describe nurses' ethics as very high or high.

Why are we more willing to negotiate a little bit more assertively for someone who's not ourselves?" Interesting things here. For women, okay, so this is ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 7 women overall negotiating on behalf of themselves for their starting salaries. [[00:26:30]] We see the starting salary that they received is lower, right?

That's great feedback. And as it currently stands, that language and the ongoing duty doesn't exist in the Model Act and Rules. So that's great feedback for us. Thank you. - Okay. And third, just I applaud you for recommending the change to remove the requirement for membership in National Council, although we all love that and we'll keep it, my umbrella agency has been looking at that issue of any of our professions that have a mandate to have a membership in certain organizations.

The good news is small organizations typically aren't targets of nation-state actors. With that being said, they're also just looking for data, so when you're thinking of intellectual property or people's personal information, they just collect it even though they don't know what they might be doing with it at any point in time, they just collect it to have it.

They're just too far out for us to visit. So, we had a conversation with every single member.

And that was done in December of 2020. And the next slide shows the great pictures of our North Dakota Association of Nurse Anesthetists. They were a very supportive group. We also had support and testimony from the North Dakota Nurse Practitioner Association, the North Dakota Center for Nursing, and also the North Dakota Nurses Association. In a real grassroots effort, we were able to visit with each of these entities and develop letters of support and full support from each of them. Some other support that I'd like to mention, National Council of State Boards of Nursing was definitely a phone call away or an email away.
