Serving on the BOD, and ultimately as board treasurer, was more than an honor—it was a transformative journey rooted in purpose, collaboration and the unyielding pursuit of public protection. The path to leadership is rarely linear. For me, it began in the heart of state government, working for the Kansas State Board of Nursing, where I came to appreciate the critical balance between regulation and innovation. I had long admired the work of NCSBN in harmonizing standards across states and advancing nursing regulation nationally and globally.
