REx-PN-Lexicon_092021_Final.pdf

French nurse educators informed each term to ensure it reflects what is common and current in practice settings. This Lexicon represents those terms where consensus by French nurse educators was difficult to achieve. The list below is not the complete guide; rather, these terms are being shared to support comprehension of translation of REx-PN items for candidates and other stakeholders. The list will continue to be refined overtime during the ongoing translation of items, based on recommendations from French speaking nurses. Representation of gender in REx-PN items has to take an alternate approach.

The current National Defense Authorization Act, we expect that it will pass. It includes grant funding for the Council of State Governments, for the development of interstate compacts to assist...particularly this is to assist military spouses. So, I think this is...I'm not sure of the most recent amount, the first amount I saw was for $10 million. I know this is a huge issue, so I think that the Council of State Governments, they have the National Center for Interstate Compacts, who will be working on this, so I think you're going to see a lot more work in the whole area of compacts and looking at compacts as a state solution to a national priority.

And so, our commission no longer uses chaperones in a case of sexual misconduct, they do gender restrictions. If the licensee has sexual misconduct complaints against females, we restrict them to only seeing males, and if that puts them out of business, that's unfortunate. But I was just reading this morning while I was sitting out waiting for my time here, and I kind of want to read this to you because it's, again, it's so timely. And this is about the doctor from USC, who's the OB-GYN, I don't know if you read about him, he was in the news. And in the exam room, he had chaperones, they were nurses or his medical assistant, and one of the complaints against this particular physician was that he was taking pictures of the female students' genitalia.

MBN Temporary Suspension Process (Pre-2014) While there was a higher priority and sense of urgency with these case investigations, the cases often followed the same complaint resolution process as other cases as the Board interpreted it had discretion to do so under the NPA provisions. • As a result of the aforementioned issues, from FY 2009 to FY 2013, the MBN temporary suspended a nurse’s license only four times in five years. MBN Temporary Suspension Process (Pre-2014) continued 2013 • MN new ...

The REx-PN uses CAT technology; learn how CAT works and the rules that determine if a candidate passes or fails the exam. CAT Definitions Candidate ability: The level of entry-level nursing knowledge, skills and abilities that the candidate has. Ability estimate: The level of entry-level nursing knowledge, skills and abilities that the computer has determined that the candidate has. Passing standard: A cut point along an ability range that marks the minimum ability level requirement.
