And so it has been for the NCSBN staff. Before I go on any further, I would like to take the opportunity to recognize the NCSBN staff for all their hard work and creativity for not only organizing this meeting, but for everything else they do for the organization.

It's submitted but it's not...so, we don't know yet if it's been accepted or anything, it's under review. - We're crossing our fingers for that because it certainly sounded very interesting, and we are all waiting with bated breath for that one. My next question is for Lisa. One of the attendees wants to know what are your thoughts about continuing to use the nursing care plan in the clinical setting and how does that support clinical judgment?

But for this one, it is really different. For the panel of judges for standard setting, it's not based on volunteer. So, I will show you how we do that. But then, the question is, how many judges are needed? You know it is very high stake decision. How many is enough?

But without enough nurses to tend those we already have, we're helpless." External groups, such as the Council of National Defense that was coordinating war efforts and the Red Cross, quickly moved into Philadelphia to try and bring nurses from outside to care for the sick, but there was really poor coordination because nobody was really in charge. The need for nurses was desperate and unremitting, October, November 1918. Most of the sick were cared for at home. It wasn't unusual for nurses to go to 40 different houses a day to arrive at a home with a dead parent, with sick children or babies sitting next to them, who had been not cared for or fed for hours or days.

The survey was used to collect information regarding each school's curriculum, use of simulation, facilities, and substitution of simulation for clinical hours. At the end of the survey, respondents were invited to be considered for participation in the National Simulation Study by passing along their contact information to the study manager. 10 schools were selected for the National Simulation Study from those programs who offered to participate.

DIF is always comparing two groups of people. In this example, we compare females and males. Female is a reference group and male is the focal group. On the horizontal axis, we have item difficulty for female candidates from -4 to +4, the easiest to the hardest. On the vertical axis, we have item difficulty for male, the same scale, from the easiest to the hardest. Think about it. If an item is the same difficulty level for both men and women, then the blue dots which are items should all fall on a diagonal line, which means the item, men, found equally easy or equally hard as women.
