In the fall, we have had to provide PPE for our students in clinical sites. We check with the site as to what is their requirement for that PPE and our simulation lab has been able to do the fit-testing for both students and faculty to get that. The state really did come through for us both in that extension of the temporary licenses for our CNSs and more importantly, they didn't require us to recertify the program when we switched to the online platform.

Some of them are not-for-profit on one arm and then for-profit on the lab arm, and they're running systems that are closed. So you will have a monitoring program that is requiring the licensees or the nurses to get screened and lab tested within a system that they also have a stake in. That's an ethical issue. ©2024 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 13 And it's just something for us to keep our eyes on. So there's wide variability in payment structures around monitoring programs. Some require monthly fees. Sometimes those fees are covered by the state, by licensing boards.
