    Choosing is more difficult in CAT than it would be on the paper test with fewer items and with paper form that can be copied. Items are scored in real time by the computer. Other than item responses, response times, test-taking behaviors can be tracked by the computer as well. Starting from this slide, I would like to draw your attention to the three important components in the NCLEX CAT exam. They are variable length exam, content balancing and exam stopping rules. A variable length CAT exam allows both test difficulty and the test lengths to be tailored to the candidates. The number of questions candidates receive on their exams depends upon their ability.
