C. A task delegated to assistive personnel cannot be redelegated by the nursing assistive personnel. D. Expert reviews. Experts are made, not born. Requires at least 10,000 hours of practice. For those of you that are in the business of looking for expert reviewers for a particular case, there's three ways to do that. In a small state like mine, it's word of mouth. In a large state like Melanie has, they have an excellent database, they may do a search based on year of graduation and type of specialty and come up with the list, send out a postcard or an email, solicit interest in providing opinion, ask for a CV for those that respond.

I don't know which commission was responsible for that. If it was a member of the nursing commission or one of our other boards or commissions. But there was one commission member that advocated for that vocally and very loudly at the legislature for about 10 years. And so they turned that into a statute.

What we want to call your attention to is that, by 2027, over 800,000 RNs and almost 200,000 LPNs, that is, 1 million nurses say they have an intent to leave the nursing profession. This is equivalent to 20% of the total licensed nursing workforce. And what is even more alarming is we are seeing something that we have never seen before, 24% of those nurses that want to leave nursing have less than 10 years of experience. The reasons for leaving are burnout, understaffing, concern for patient safety, a lack of educational preparation for entering the workforce, and violence in the workplace, and bullying. And I want to call to your attention that these are basic needs.
