It's there as a permanent record from the NPDB as well as Nursys. So, when we're talking to the nurses, we advise them that you're not going to run from it, it is there. The best conversation you can have with them is to be upfront with their employers, and to tell them what happened and work through it in that regard.

But thought it would be nice to illustrate for you kind of what has been going on and what are some of the strategies that have been used. So I am going to start with the use of media to advance legislation. We hear a lot about how important the media is and how it's important to leverage the media when wanting to, you know, push a policy initiative. So I wanted to show an example of how that was actually put into play this session. So I will, in the next coming slides, talk about Nurse Licensure Compact legislation. There is a NLC bill that's filed in Minnesota.

They're the same size. It is the things around the lens that cause you to think that one is bigger or not. They are, in fact, measurably the same size. And my favorite of all. What do you see here? How many people see a triangle? What if I told you there is absolutely no triangle there? Does not exist, folks. You drew the lines in. Look again once I tell you. Your lens said there was a line there when there was not. You see what I'm talking about in dueling paradigms. It's very important. And so our question today becomes, are lenses correct?

Painter] Hello, everyone. And it's really nice to see actual faces out there because we were convinced everybody had flights and needed to go. So thank you. I'm the first one to talk about...in 2016, I came into the position, we had a database that was working okay. It was created by our state, IT department and it worked well when it was designed in 2004.

And when she went into one of these databases, I think it was the ACS, but I could be wrong, she said, "There's nobody there." She said, "Don't we have any midwives in Georgia?" And, you know, she was, well, guess what? If they weren't among that handful of nurses to answer that survey, then we know nothing about them and midwifery.

That's not what you're after. What you're after is understanding when you know what something costs for you to do, you can start to see the impact of improving that process. So, let's just imagine that this team went from an average of $4,000 per month to $4,500 per month. That's a change of 74 cents per inquiry based on the salary that I've provided there or $40,000.

This is probably the easiest one to pick up on, reports is removal of medication and then, obviously, they didn't administer it at all. I wouldn't say that's the most common method of diversion anymore, we still do see it but it becomes pretty clear rather quickly, I would say. And I think there is an example in the book that we'll go through in a minute of that. Removal of medication when not needed, this one you actually can pick up on reports, interestingly enough. Usually what I do here is I'm looking for things like pain score or due times, etc.

I'm excited about getting to go, but just trying to understand what the connection between the two. So, our theme for this meeting is boldly exploring. You can't explore, you can't be an explorer without being willing to take on risk. You know, I think about when we were playing as children. We all wanted to dress up as cowboys, cowgirls, or maybe you wanted to be an astronaut. Those were the two big ones for us. You wanted to take on those risks and go exploring. Some really might argue that there is no greater risk than space exploration.

The 0/1 scoring rule would also apply there. Let's go through some detailed examples of when the 0/1 scoring rule is applied. The most common item type for the 0/1 scoring rule is the multiple-choice item. Candidates must select a single option to complete the item.

When there is discipline, the discipline will be described in a written, publicly available document forever attached to the license. APRNs should look at every word in that document to make sure it is trimmed and tailored as best as the APRN can negotiate.
