The pandemic brought nurses to the forefront of the world's attention because of their invaluable and irreplaceable position on the front lines of COVID-19. Throughout 2020 and 2021, NCSBN both led and was an active participant in a number of pandemic-related initiatives designed to increase access to NCLEX examination administration, reduce regulatory barriers for providers, open clinical experiences for nursing students, and offer direction on the administration of COVID-19 vaccines. Even in the midst of the pandemic, vital regulatory work continued. NCSBN was a significant contributor to the State of the World's Nursing 2020 Report, offering a regulatory perspective and providing accurate data, evidence and suggestions for a legislative change.
