    I have worked at the Board of Nursing since 2010 as the director of education in practice. In 2020, I was selected as the CEO by the board following our previous CEO and national council president, Julie George. A change in leadership during a pandemic is certainly not ideal, but our board's many strengths has supported us during this transition. As the current CEO, it is a huge honor to receive the 2020 Regulatory Achievement Award for the North Carolina Board of Nursing. On behalf of the 14 board members, over 50 board staff, I gratefully accept the Regulatory Achievement Award.

    Now that we've looked at so many things that are changing, it's helpful to keep in mind what is staying the same. The NCLEX-RN and PN exams will continue to use computerized adaptive testing or CAT. Importantly, the difficulty of the exams will remain the same. Further good news is we do not expect the exams to change again until the launch of NGN, which is still at least two and a half years away.
