Download Model Act NCSBN Model Rules The Model Act & Rules provides an evidence-based framework of nursing statutes and regulations for nursing regulatory bodies to utilize during policy and advocacy discussions. The current Model Act & Rules were updated by a NCSBN committee under a charge to perform ongoing review, revision, and development of Model Act & Rules to reflect the current regulatory environment and to remove any other language that does not support public safety. This work began in 2018 and was approved by the Delegate Assembly in 2021.

The conference rarely addresses regulatory laws; thus, for nurs- ing, it is up to the state boards to determine where there should be uniformity and to propose the requirements. Uniform licensure requirements provide consistent stan- dards and promote a health care system that is fluid and acces- sible by removing barriers to care and maximizing portability for nurses. Even more importantly, they assure the consumer that a nurse in one state has met the same requirements as nurses in every other state.

The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) produces publications, online courses and videos that contribute to the body of nursing knowledge. This session will explain the processes and steps every NCLEX item goes through before it can be used on the NCLEX. Opportunities for educator involvement will also be highlighted. 2020 | Event Presentation Standard Setting Standard setting is a process used by testing professionals to determine the passing score on a test. It is an important step in establishing the validity and legal defensibility of an exam program. The NCLEX-RN and NCLEX-PN exams reevaluate their respective passing standards triennially.
