Area III Director Vacancy (Handout) President George introduced the need to fill the opening for an Area III Director due to Jim Cleghorn’s election to President-elect. The BOD discussed options for a replacement. Action #2: The Board moved and approved the appointment of Jay Douglas to the Area III vacancy to fill the unexpired term ending August 2019. Rationale: The election of Jim Cleghorn to President-Elect opened the position to Area III Director, which needs to be filled in order to have a fully functional BOD.

His action plan for the organization sparked a change that empowers all staff to make consistent, principled choices to meet the needs of diverse communities. Douglas also championed an expedited registration and licensure model for nurses, streamlining the process for international nurses, and was recently appointed CEO and registrar of the college.
