Rationale: To inform and educate consumers on the role of boards of nursing and advanced practice registered nurses. G.5. Review & Discuss Annual Environmental Scan Report Chief Officer, Nursing Regulation Maryann Alexander presented the annual, written environmental scan report. The Board discussed various aspects impacting nursing regulation including state and federal financial deficits. The Board asked that additional data be included next year on nursing education programs, such as the number and types of nursing education programs in states and articulation programs being implemented to encourage continued education of nurses to obtain their BSNs.
