Early on, my thoughts centered primarily on what NCSBN could do for me. Later, like many of you, I've felt a desire to share the knowledge and experience gained and support and encourage new members who have so much to contribute. Why did I stay for 35 years? How can a person sustain herself in a position for that long?

However when she pulls up the license on Nursys, it says voluntary surrender.” Won’t this ever go away?! It isn’t on the board’s website. Why is it still on this 3rd party website? So when given a choice, many times nurses said, "Just discipline me. I'll be in the alternative program for five years. I'll be in the discipline program for three years. You know, the alternative program has all these requirements for me. The discipline program, I just need to go get tested and, you know, whatever." So that's something we need to look at also.
