National Simulation Guidelines for Prelicensure Nursing Programs | NCSBN
Explore NCSBN’s National Simulation Guidelines for prelicensure nursing programs, including evidence‑based standards, expert development, criteria, and resources. Questions have arisen regarding the number of clinical hours a program should require in order to substitute clinical hours with simulation. All programs participating in the National Simulation Study (Hayden, Smiley, Alexander, Kardong-Edgren, & Jeffries, 2014) required at least 600 hours of clinical experience in the pre-licensure curriculum. No evidence is available regarding the outcomes of substituting traditional clinical experience with simulation when the program has less than 6 ...

Transcript_2021awards_mbaroni.pdf
It's been my honor to have served as a member of the Washington State Nursing Care Quality Assurance Commission since 2013. And this summer, my second full four-year term will come to an end. While I will continue to serve in a pro-time capacity, including ongoing participation with the ICRS Advisory Panel, one chapter is closing while another unfolds. To be nominated for this Exceptional Contribution Award by Washington colleagues and then selected by NCSBN Awards Committee for this recognition is both a moving and a humbling experience for me. https://www.ncsbn.org/16100.htm ©2021 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc.
