  •  Committees | NCSBN

    Most National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) objectives are accomplished by committees. All NCSBN members are eligible for committee membership. Many of NCSBN's objectives are accomplished through the committee process. NCSBN strives to achieve balanced representation whenever possible among area, staff and board members, registered and licensed professional/vocational nurses, and consumers. The time commitment is a two-year appointment, with committees meeting 2-3 times per year. There are also opportunities to serve on ad hoc committees and task forces. The Leadership Succession Committee, an elected committee, is charged to present a slate of candidates for inclusion on a ballot for the election of NCSBN Leadership.

    Recommendations for Consideration: The Finance Committee recommended that the Board accept the financial statements for the period ended December 31, 2023. Investments The Committee met with the investment consultant from AndCo. The investment consultant presented a report on the performance of the NCSBN investment portfolio. For the three-month period ended December 31, 2023, the rate of return on investments was 8.2%. The market value of the investment portfolio on December 31, 2023, totaled $242.9 million. A total of $117.5 million invested in domestic equities, $20.8 million in international equities, $90.7 million in bonds and $13.9 million in real estate.
