In the category of skills/knowledge, they included twenty-nine studies, reporting that the preponderance of the findings support simulation to be effective for teaching knowledge and skills. For example, one research study cited in this review (Sportsman, Schumacker & Hamilton, 2011) was a longitudinal, descriptive investigation of 895 students, finding that students were able to learn unique skills and knowledge in simulation that are normally learned in clinical experiences.

That collaboration provides regular dialog about regulatory, legislative, and public policy initiatives. Recognizing the profound need that was intensified by the pandemic and other public health emergencies, the Board collaborated with other regulatory colleagues to create a framework for an Alternative to Discipline Program for nurses. Additionally, the Board works with the local health care organization to provide access to resources which help nurses and other healthcare professionals in the state who are in crisis. North Dakota is one of only five boards of nursing recognized by the U.S.

And not only at the board table being prepared, but that carries over into all aspects of our lives. Be prepared with your family and your friends, your day job. Leadership is being actively involved in an organization you're part of, whether you run for office or you're on a committee. It's stepping up to the plate and helping to guide discussion, guide policy, guide rules. It's just being at the table and being an active participant. Leadership comes in all forms and all different people. I think it's very important for board members to be encouraged to run for the board of directors.
