The Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) allows for nurses to have one multistate license with the ability to practice in all compact states which increases access to care while maintaining public protection at the state level. Students & the NLC Information for students or faculty to prepare those planning to acquire a multistate license. Apply for a Multistate License Nurses who live in a compact state can apply for a multistate license if they meet the licensure requirements. How to Apply Participating Jurisdictions 43 jurisdictions are currently part of the NLC.
