Lateral violence is receiving greater attention as more is learned about its impact on patient safety and quality clinical outcomes. Site: nursecompact.com
In our state, because we were not in the nurse compact, the governor had to issue emergency waivers to permit out-of-state licensed nurses and doctors to come in and help with the surges. If we had not had those emergency powers – there is no telling how badly it could have been as far as a medical response to the most critical of patients. So, for me, the pandemic really brought attention to the need of why these compacts are not only beneficial, but crucial.” “COVID definitely had a huge impact on us,” says Logan. “We needed to be able to move nurses around quickly.

So, I found that work very interesting. I'll be interested if you find the same. - We have someone coming up to the mic here. - [Fenosofi][SP] Hi, Fenosofi from the Federation in Canada. So, we've just taken over at the national level work on the physician factors program with the Medical Council of Canada. And what I like about ©2019 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 6 that work is that when it looks at a risk, it tries to identify the protective factors that can be brought to bear as soon as possible before that physician comes to the attention of the regulator.

The 2016 legislative sessions were also robust for telehealth legislation. More than 200 bills were introduced across states. Bills defined providers, clarified reimbursement strategies, and, in some cases formed advisory taskforces. Of particular attention were bills pertaining to cross border practice. The Interstate Medical Licensure Compact (FSMB) have 17 states adopting it and another nine in which it has been introduced. They have a sufficient number to initiate rulemaking and will meet in August, 2016 to review comments to their rules structure.

She is often short-tempered and forgetful, yet she seems to pay extra attention to patients who have been ordered pain medication. William first thought he wasn’t experienced enough to make judgments about the behaviors of fellow nurses, but after the in-service, he realizes that Karen’s actions fit many of the criteria in the SUD presentation.
