    As organizations representing the health care professional licensing and regulatory boards in the U.S., the Federation of State Medical Boards (FSMB), National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) and NCSBN formed the Tri-Regulator Collaborative in 2011. The first-ever Tri-Regulator Symposium, “Protecting Patients and the Public: A Heritage of Excellence,” was designed to advance consensus building and dialogue on issues of state-based regulation and licensure.

    And when you go down into a specific industry, a specific geography, you can create a collaborative effort to make it successful. And so what we're doing as a foundation is we're working in collaborative efforts, in small clusters, to actually drive adoption within those clusters: so, trying to just boil everything. But if you take a state, for example, and you take healthcare and you focus in on the education institutions, the licensing bodies, and the big employers in that state, right, that's not thousands of organizations. It may be a few dozen. And you have enough to create the beginning of a real ecosystem working.
