He went to UT and was a philosophy major, and then he ended up going to UT law school. So, that's, sort of, a background. He liked to write the legislation that affected his nurses. And when he did so, he used a lot of words. And you'd argue with him and you'd debate and you'd go through these serpentine, you know, readings and you're like, "Well, how did we get there?" And he goes, "Oh, it's all very clear." So, I'll just start into it.

These ratios are determined by the nursing program. Some programs use a 1:1 ratio, others use 1:2, and still others use 2:1. For example, in the NCSBN National Simulation study (Hayden et al., 2014), the ratio used was 1:1. Currently there is no evidence clarifying which ratio is most effective. Additionally, the researchers found that faculty-to-student ratios, in the same schools, were greater in the clinical instruction setting than in simulation.

Valerie Dearman asks, "When initiating regulation of NPs, were there grandfather clauses for previous NPs?" - That is a great question. So, yes, I'm just trying to think how that would have applied, and I'm assuming she's speaking about Nurse Practitioners in other jurisdictions.

And that said, from our workplace to our home, we have to be comfortable having discussions about racism, diversity, and inclusion. These are necessary for us to be aware of our own personal biases and promote action and change. We have to look at how our regulations, and when we look at discipline, how different groups of people may be charged or looked at different and have a different experience. And you can't do that when you only see the world through your eyes. There is a great HR specialist, Chief People Officer for UKG, Pat Wadors, who said, "When we listen and celebrate what is both common and different, we become wiser, more inclusive, and better as an organization."

Finally, we explored whether NPS were more likely to obtain waivers in rural counties and whether this depends on whether physician oversight is required. As seen in the first column, there is a slightly higher percentage of NPs in rural counties with waivers than in urban counties, but this difference is not statistically significant. In the second column, we can see that there is a significantly higher percentage of NPs with waivers in rural areas when physician oversight is not required.

They saw the big picture. They were able to implement process and system-level changes in their organizations. Employer suggestions to improve the DNP curriculum. The employers felt that there should be an increase in practicum hours for the DNPs and especially the BSN-to-DNP group. There was a limit to the number of online programs. They felt that online programs, the quality wasn't there as compared to on-the-ground programs. In this study, I will tell you, and that's coming up in the few slides, we found no evidence of that, that there was a difference in the quality of an online program versus on the ground.

We don't actually have all of the data they are compiled in a nice format. Certainly the questions and the summary of the surveys are available. >> Thank you. The survey as I mentioned, we are redesigning our public page. I think this is a good suggestion so that when we look at the redesign and updating information on and, the steering committee could recommend in the entire L.A.C.E. network and recommend this is something. There is a summary document. >> Thank you. I know there was a workgroup that I was fortunate enough to serve on that look at the position statements that are currently on the L.A.C.E. website.
