Trying to see whether those innovations have been measured and studied, and we could look at the sort of cost implications of some of those issues.

She stresses that serving member boards by providing resources and support leaves them better able to fulfill their mission of protecting the public. NCSBN staff work under the direction of member boards to accomplish goals that neither could do as well on their own. When asked what accomplishments she is most proud of, Kathy quickly responds, “There are many of them but the first one that immediately leaps to mind is the fact that when NCSBN moved offices more than 10 years ago we did it in three days, over the weekend, working together as a staff to ensure there was no disruption in services to our member boards.

I mean, I really was interested in one of the initiatives you have about the acquisition of the products, so that even if we could tie into that from beyond North America. Because I think it's moving so fast, and this is where all regulation fails, when the system moves faster than the regulation, so there is always the opportunity for exploitation. This database is the government of Canada’s terminology and linguistic data bank. This standardized data bank holds several million French/English equivalents to facilitate consistent translation of the official languages of Canada. Due to the specificity of the nursing profession, there are occasions when no translation exists in the Termium Plus® database for some nursing and/or health care terminology. In those instances, NCSBN utilizes an alternate approach to obtain a comprehensible term. Research is conducted using credible sources to obtain an acceptable translation.
