Pennsylvania To Allow Nurses with Multistate Licenses to Begin Practicing in the State Sept. 5 | NCSBN
The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. A multistate license facilitates cross-border practice for many types of nurses who routinely practice with patients in other states, including primary care nurses, case managers, transport nurses, school and hospice nurses and many others. Further, military spouses who experience moves every few years also benefit greatly from the multistate license. For more information regarding the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania’s implementation of the NLC, visit dos.pa.gov . For general information ...

And then, what could we do into the future? Well, we could increase coverage of Nursys to include all APRNs and develop systems to integrate nursing support staff into this as well. ©2022 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 9 Because remember, some of the most challenging places is in our long-term care sector. Yes, we know that there's 5 million or so unduplicated LPNs and RNs in the nation, but there's more than 4 million support workers. And how are they deployed? And how are they contributing to the agenda?

In the late '90s as Jack was saying, there wasn't one email system that we could send from any email server to anyone in the world to any address. If we were in CompuServe, we could only communicate with people in CompuServe. If we were in America Online, we could only communicate with people in America Online. The internet and the general email standards made it possible for us to send an email to anyone in the world regardless of what mail server they use, regardless of where they are. That's what Velocity is.

We can actually take their claims and define whether they were high or low-risk pregnancies, and we're actually able to examine what APRNs are doing at the point of care because we can see the individual pregnancy episodes and every individual constituent procedure, event, and visit that occurred in that pregnancy. Moreover, I can see exactly which providers attended that visit. Was it an OB-GYN? Was it an MD? Was it an APRN? And so with this, we're able to be the very first study that actually examined the intensity of care within a pregnancy care team.
