  • Marijuana-Impaired Driving

The report is to educate the public that drugs other than alcohol, including marijuana, are absorbed, distributed and eliminated from the body differently than alcohol. While BAC correlates closely with impairment, there is no such measure (e.g., THC) for marijuana that correlates with impairment. Thus, a BAC-equivalent impairment measure is not possible. Some studies have reported a fairly wide variability that is affected by the means of ingestion (smoking, oil, and edibles), potency, and user characteristics. Most research on the effects of marijuana has used smoking and often do not measure the concentration of THC in the blood. Figure 2 Absorption of THC in Plasma after Smoking Note: Whole Blood THC is less than Plasma THC Figure 2 (above) shows a generalized example of the absorption of THC in the blood (plasma) after smoking a marijuana cigarette (Heustis, 2007, Huestis, Hemmingfield, Cone, 1992).

The RN and PN standards are not directly comparable because they are based on different item pools. _____________________________________ *These statistics are in units, called logits, on the Rasch measurement scale. There is no inherent meaning of the units; they represent an arbitrary scale useful for reporting relative differences. This scale can be used for two purposes: (1) to measure degree of candidate competence (-2 = low; +2 = high), and (2) degree of item dif ...

And that happens because sometimes we don't have enough time to take the time to get to know them, to analyze the situation, to walk through the challenges. So, we need a representative heuristic, a shortcut that says, "The Last time I've dealt with a person like this, X, Y, and Z. The last time I saw a person like this in a movie, X, Y, and Z. The last time I heard about a person like this at the dinner table with your crazy cousin staff, X, Y, and Z." It teaches you to have shortcuts. This is the one that we've got to work on.
