Many of you may know this person. Sukanlaya Hughes, is her original name. And she came to the attention of the Arizona Board of Nursing in November of 2013. And at that time, the behavioral health agency reported that she was holding a knife up against her neck when she was arguing with her husband. She was terminated from work because she had had a patient come to her office and she was asking them to help her move.

So we have the very low, at 1 to 4, for example, which are managed by routine procedures, all the way up to 21 to 25, which is a critical risk, and the management response required is executive-level attention. Now, the next part of the risk register is the risk response plan. So you want to talk about the risk treatment. Can you remediate? If you can remediate, you want to identify if the threat can be eliminated and how. Can you mitigate? Can you identify strategies to minimize the threat's impact when it cannot be eliminated?

    Overdose deaths involving any opioids remain high as well. There was much interest in understanding the role of clinician's opioid prescribing patterns in the opioid epidemic. Two studies published in 2015 and 2018 using data from 2012, and 2016, and 2017 drew attention to the fact that the majority of opioid prescriptions are written in primary care. The study on the left counted prescriptions from NPs and PAs together. And the study on the right, the later time period, showed that the share of opioid prescription from NPs and dentists had increased somewhat by 2016-2017.
