    The National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) is a not-for-profit organization whose purpose is to provide an organization through which boards of nursing act and counsel together on matters of common interest and concern affecting the public health, safety and welfare, including the development of licensing examinations in nursing. Key points for nurses residing in Vermont:   Beginning on Feb. 1, 2022, nurses residing in Vermont who currently hold a Vermont RN or LPN/VN license may be eligible for a multistate specialty license.  The multistate license specialty application is now available on the  Vermont Board of Nursing website. It is not necessary for Vermont residents to wait until the next renewal period to apply for the multistate license.

    We've reviewed the policies, we've considered feedback from the NCLEX program surveys, we've reviewed candidate appeals. Our committee is actually the last step in the review process when a candidate files an appeal regarding the NCLEX exam. And we conducted a final review of NCLEX items. Also, we have approved the LPN/VN Practice Analysis Survey Report that included activity and knowledge statements. These were published in the 2018 LPN/VN Practice Analysis Survey Report. The committee reviewed and approved the panel of judges who will meet in September and make a recommendation for the passing standard which is the cut score.
